reating Respite Solutions Workshop: A Survey of Parents’ and Caregivers’ Interests and Needs

As many of us know, providing care over long periods affects the health and well-being of parents/caregivers, and the entire family. Parents and caregivers may need respite (i.e., a break from care giving). Parents and caregivers report that regular respite care helps them to maintain their health and sustain their energy to provide care.  The Respite Committee, a community based group, is planning a workshop for parents and caregivers in late Spring 2008.

We want to find out how interested families are in attending this workshop and the kinds of supports that families may need to attend.   The content and structure of the workshop will depend on families’ feedback and our ability to obtain funding for identified needs. We will do our best to make it easy for you to attend the workshop.

Complete the survey in one of the two ways:

1. Go to this site::

2. Print the PDF (click here to download) of the survey (if you need assistance for photocopying please contact Dawn LeBlanc at 470-8200, 1-800-470-5888, or dawn.leblanc@iwk.nshealth.ca.)

On behalf of the Respite committee, we would like to thank you for your time and participation.
