reating Respite Solutions
Workshop:
A Survey of Parents’ and Caregivers’ Interests and Needs
As many of us know,
providing care over long periods affects the health and well-being of
parents/caregivers, and the entire family. Parents and caregivers may need
respite (i.e., a break from care giving). Parents and caregivers report that
regular respite care helps them to maintain their health and sustain their
energy to provide care. The Respite Committee, a community based
group, is planning a workshop for parents and caregivers in late Spring 2008.
We want to find out how
interested families are in attending this workshop and the kinds of supports
that families may need to attend. The content and structure of
the workshop will depend on families’ feedback and our ability to obtain funding
for identified needs. We will do our best to make it easy for you to attend the
workshop.
